<summary>Mrs. Matthews class has been learning about unicellular organisms - including bacteria.&#160; Last week the students&#160;made bacteria beads out of play-doh during their centers.&#160; They also made a penicillin bead to &quot;kill off&quot; the bacteria.&#160; After allowing time for the play-doh to dry, the students then&#160;put all of their beads onto a necklace as they studied&#160;four famous scientists in the world of microbes (Fleming, Pasteur, Lister, and Salk).&#160;&#160;Today they&#160;learned that Alexander Fleming discovered penicillin.&#160; Each student made sure to include penicillin in their beaded necklace.
